Released in 1991, Lemmings was a personal favourite of mine. Although I never owned it I would look forward going round to my cousins to play this game. Often though when you play the old games they don't seem as good as you remember

Not so with Lemmings. Level design is colourful and imaginative and puzzles can even be challenging. As a minor improvement over the original there's a level select option so no more hunting for codes.

Its not all good though. There appears to be a glitch on level 18 where my lemmings would fall through the floor and into fire. Also some of the sound can really grate. Back ground songs can include “Take me out to the ball game” and “She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes” all played on electric keyboard. The worst of it though is your reward for saving the little critters. 100 “yippees” in a row can drive anyone mad.

Still. If you get past these minor failings its a great trip down memory lane and available from the Microsoft store now.
